Helen Nguper Nyitse, FPA, MNIM, MANUPA was born to the family of late Mr. Christopher Iorhuna Agum, a retired Assistant Commissioner of Police and Mrs. Martina Maashin Agum of Vandeikya Local Government and is the tenth child out of eighteen children. She started schooling at an early age, having successfully passed through Primary and Secondary school, Mrs. Nyitse subsequently obtained a B.Sc Sociology Degree at Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto, Sokoto State in 1986 and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) at the Benue State University Makurdi in 2008 Mrs. Nyitse also holds a Diploma in Computer Studies. She is a member of many Professional Associations including; Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA), Nigerian Institute of Management, and is a Fellow of Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria (IPAN). Mrs. Helen Nyitse joined the services of the University of Agriculture, Makurdi in 1989 as an Administrative Assistant and rose through the ranks to the position of a Deputy Registrar, a position she held until her appointment as the Registrar of the University. The Registrar, born in a family rooted in Administration, is one among five Administrators produced by the family. They include; Late Ambassador Emmanuel Agum, former Managing Director, Benue Cement Company Plc; Dr. Mrs. Judith Saor (rtd), Deputy Registrar, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Mr. Paul Agum, Deputy Registrar, Benue State University, Makurdi and Mrs. Doofan Akaayar, an Information Officer with Benue State Government. Mrs. Helen Nyitse in her quest to succeed and bring the desired change as the Registrar of the University has a fascinating mission thus: “To develop and build a formidable work force/team for enhanced/improved service delivery”. As a devoted Christian, Mrs. Helen Nyitse clings to the orthodox philosophy “with God all things are possible” The Registrar, Mrs. Helen Nyitse is married to Dr. Gabriel Tivlumun Nyitse, a retired Permanent Secretary, Government House Administration, Benue State Government and a political icon in Benue State. They are blessed with lovely children.
