OGUNLEYE, Dr Ademola

Secretary to the Ogun State Government, was bom on October 2, 1938 at Erinja,via Ilaro, Egbado South Local Govern ment Area. His parents are Chief Isaiah Ogunleye Balogun and Madam Agboola Ajayi. He attended the African Church School, Erinja (1945-48) and the Christ Church School, Ilaro (1949-51). Dr. Ogunleyelater proceeded to the Preliminary Teachers' College, Ilaro and the St. Paul's College, Abeokuta (1954-55) for training as a Grade 111 Teacher; and St. Luke's College, Abeo kuta (1958-59) where he qualified as a Grade 11 Teacher. After passing his A level in 1961, he went abroad and was at (he Augustana College, Sionx Falls, S.D., U.S.A. 1961-63) where he graduated B.A (Hons)(Political Science). He gradua ted LL.B. (Hons) at Holborn College of Law, London (1966); LL.M. (London)( 1968); FH.D (LawXLondon) (1970); and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1979. Dr. Ogunleye, having graduated, took up appointment in the Federal Civic Service in 1971 as an External Affairs Officer Grade 111.V111. He was Senior Assistant Secretary (1972-73); Principal Assistant Secretary (1973- 75); Under Secretary (1975-76);' De puty Secretary (1976-78) and became Principal Secretary (1978-79), a post he held until his present appointment. Dr. Ogunleye's brilliant academic performances earned him the coveted position of a Scholar of the African Scholarship Programme of American Universitites (1961-63) and a Scholar Df the University College, London (1968-70). A member of the Nigerian Society of Criminologist and author, Dr. Ogun leye has written a book, "The Motorist and the Law", published in 1976 by the Ethiope Publishing Corporation. Other in preparation are "Anatomy of Government Contractors" and "The Nigerian Prison System." He is a Christian of the Anglican denomination, Dr. Ogunleye is married with four children. His hobbies are reading and writing.
