OJUKWU, Maurice C. Obiora

NPP) "whose philosophy of life is "Honour or Shame Depends on How Well One Plays One's Part", was born on 28th May, 1930 at Asa in Imo State. He is a native of Nnewi and represents Nnewi North-East Constituency. He schooled at Christ the King's School, Aba and St. Martins T.T.C. Ihiala. He later finished at St. Charles College Onitsha from where he obtained the Teachers Grade 11 Certificate. Hon. Ojukwu attended leadership course at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 1974 and Awgu Leadership Centre in 1975. His leadership qualities and activities later led to his being awarded a Certificate in leadership by the Canadian Teachers' Association. Mr. Ojukwu who was a teacher before his election to the State Assembly was a onetime Chairman of Onitsha Southern County Council and Chairman of Nigerian Union of Teachers. Nnewi Local Government area. An ardent Catholic, he is a member of the Order of Knights of St. Mulumba. His hobbies include sports, reading literature books philanthropic and religious activities. He is married with seven children.
