SECRETARY TO THE BORNO STATE GOVERNMENT, Mr. Gbadebo Michael Olowolaiyemo, was born on 29th September, 1936 in Kabba,Oyi LocalGovernment Area of Kwara State. He started his early education at St. Mary's School, Kabba from 1940-50, and St. Malachy College of Minna 1951-53 where he completed his Grade III Teachers course. Mr. Olowolaiyemo then attended a Grade I Tea chers course at College of Mary Imma culate, Kafanchan from 1957-58. He was a teacher in Southern Zaria before gaining admission into Univer sity of Lagos where he obtained Ba chelor of Science Degree in Business Administration in 1965. Mr. Olowolaiyemo then took up appointment in the former Northern Nigeria Government asAssistant Secre tary in 1966, and later became Divi sional Officer for Katagum Emirate in 1967. When twelve States were created in 1967,he was deployed to Kwara State but seconded to North Eastern State Public Service in October, 1968. In 1969, Mr. Olowolaiyemo was Senior District Officer incharge of Bauchi Division and later transferred ,to North East Public Service Commision in 1970 as Secretary. He was ap pointed Acting Permanent Secretary, Home Affairs and Information in 1973. Between 1974-76, Mr. Olowolai yemo was in the University of Wales where he bagged Master of Science Degree in Economics and a Diploma in Social Planning. On return home he was appointed permanent secretary, Ministry of Local Government. Until his appointed as Secretary to the Borno State Government, Mr. Olo wolaiyemo was the Permanent Secre tary, Ministry of Health. He is married with four daughters and his hobbies included farming and lawn tennis.
