Ihittc Uboma LGA Imo State Toby E.M. Onyekele is a true nationalist and patriot who longs and practically demonstrates his support for the people's growth and rise in the ladder ofprogress. It pains him to see his people and community lag behind in the developmental process of things. He is committed to socio-economic development of his local community. Joined the People's Democratic Party ( PDP) Community Development Efforts and Help • President of Abueke Community, home and abroad • Initiated the Electrification of Abueke Autonomous Community with a take off grant and championed other developmental projects in Abueke • Sponsored Party Meetings of the Local PDP in the Ward. Local Government Area and attracted the attention of some big party stalwarts. • Organised seminars, workshops and meetings that generated awareness and touched his people's lives. • Spearheaded and financed the handling fees for the Motorbike delivered to ten council wards in Ihitte-Uboma by the State PDP • Through a painstaking survey, developed the concept of Palm for Palm Approach in Imo Slate and conducted a research to establish thai upland rice seedlings can grow well on the same type of soil where maize can grow. • Established a system of integration for poultry farming in the LGA The Local Parish Church benefited from his efforts too. Toby organised the roofing of the Holy Ghost Parish Cathedral with Aluminium roofing sheets on his own with his own money. He believes in Ihe empowerment oflhe youths for proactive service. He is advising them to: "make hard work, discipline, and dedication to dutytheir watchwords ". To the Igbo Leaders, he says, "be resolute and unite for the pursuit ofIgho Agenda. The Leadership is all about Unity ofPurpose ". Vwards and Honours • Awarded Honour of Excellence by International Peace Corps for carrying out a comprehensive programme of youth development. Toby is married with children. Joseph and Beatrice are getting deeply involved in patriotic projects
