Captain Mohammed Bala Shagari (rtd), an elected member, represents Yabo Federal Con stituency, Sokoto State. He was bom on March 17, 1949 and is from Shagari town, Sokoto. He attended M/Rafi Junior Primary School, Sokoto, 1956—59; Farfaru Senior Primary School, Sokoto, 1960—61; Okesuna Municipal School, Lagos, 1962; St. George's School, Falomo, Lagos, 1963; Barewa College, Zaria, 1964—66 and Government Technical Training School, Kano, 1967—69. He also at tended Filton Technical College, Bristol, UK, 1970—71 and the Nigerian Defence Academy, 1975. Capt. Shagari is a farmer and company director. He retired from the Nigerian Army in February 1984. He is married with three children. His hobbies are polo and snooker playing.
