Alhaji Abba Garba Sumaila, an elected member, represents Sumaila Federal Consti tuency, Kano State. He was born in Sumaila on July 28, 1958. He attended Government Secondary School, Gwarzo, 1971-1975; School of Preliminary Studies, 1975-1977 and University of Calabar, where he obtained his B.Sc. in 1981. He obtain ed M.Sc. from the University of Jos in 1985. Alhaji Abba was a fisheries officer with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture from 1981 to 1987 and he is now an Executive Director of Abban Borno and Sons Ltd., Kano. He is married with two sons and a daughter. His hobbies are travelling and reading.
