was born on October 6, 1931 at Ogbe Ahiara in Ahiazu Local Government area; He was educated at St. Brigid's School, Ahiara, 1937-44; St. Anthony's T.T.C. Onitsha, 1945- 46 and Fourah Bay College Freetown, Sierra-Leone, 1963-67 where he obtai ned a B.A. degree in Economics; Mr Uhegbu was for many years a school master in the following schools: Cat holic Mission, Owerri Diooese, 1947- 63; Enyiogugu Secondary School, Aboh-Mbaise, 1970-73; Comprehen sive Secondary School, Ngwo 1974; Girls' High School, Ngwo, 1974-75; Ngwa Nigh School, Aba, 1975-76; He went into private business in 1976; He is married and has nine children.
