USMAN, Dr. Abubakar

Dr. Usman represented Ankpa North Consti tuency, Benue State, in the House of Representatives. He was a member of the Na tional Party of Nigeria. He was born on 27th November 1939 at Okaba Ankpa Local Government Area in Benue State. His father, Mr. Usman Jibilah is a farmer, while his mother, Omele Adejoh is a house-wife. Dr. Usman had his elementary education at Dekina Primary School from 1948 to 1954. For his post-primary education he attended the following school: Secondary School, Dekina, 1954- 55, Secondary school, Okene, 1956 — 1959, King's College Lagos, 1960 - 1961. He later studied in the University of Ibadan where he graduated in Economics in 1965. He obtain ed his Masters Degree from Williams College, Masachussets, U.S.A. in 1968 and a doctorate degree in Economics, from the University of Minnesota, U.S.A.
