Mark was born on June 10, 1924 at Emukuku. He hails from Ezi Ogbaku in the Mbaitoli/Ikeduru Local Government Area. Mr. Durueke had his primary and secondary education at St. Martin's Ihiala, and Christ the King College, Onitsha, respectively. He obtained the Senior Cambridge School Certificate in 1941. He sub sequently worked as a civil servant from 1942-1975 in the then Eastern Nigerian, later East Central State and rose to the post of Principal Accoun tant before retiring voluntarily. Mr. Durueke has held the following posts: Chairman, Nigerian Television Autho rity (Zone B) March 1978- September 1979; Member, Board of Directors, N.T.A. March 1978 - September 1979; Member, Imo State Public Accounts Committee, July 1976 - September 1979. Mr. Durueke's philosophy of life is "humility, dedication and hardwork in all endeavours." He is married and has seven children.
