Institute of Book-keepers and Management in 1961, and the Associateship examina tions of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries and Administrators in 1962. He was the President of the Nige rian Students' Union in 1961 and had audience with the Queen of England. As a student leader, he was voted into the Students' Representative Council in 1960, and was the Finance Minister. On his return to Nigeria in 1962, he was employed as a Research Officer in the Central Bank of Nigeria. He also worked briefly in the Bank's Scrutiny Section before leaving the Central Bank to join British Petroleum Com pany, Limited as Capital Accountant. In 1965, Mr. Emeziem was trans ferred to BP Port Harcourt as the Divisional Accountant/Administration Officer, a post he held till after the war. In 1970, he was posted to BP Apapa as the Divisional Accountant, and was acting District Manager in BP Ibadan in 1971 and in 1972, before he was appointed Shipping Co-ordinator of the seven oil marketing compa nies in Nigeria. Between 1965 and 1967, he passed the Association of Certified and Corporate Accountants Part 111 examinations and Association of Cost and Management Accountants' Examinations Part 111 but gave up the courses as a result of the civil war. Mr. Emeziem became the Divisio nal Manager of BP Kano in 1974 and represented BP very well in the nine States in the north. He was promoted to the post of manager supply and distribution in 1976, a post he held till he resigned voluntarily in 1978 to go into business. He was the Managing Director of Alex Marianda Supplies Co. engaged in small-scale industrial development in Mbaise and gas distri bution in Aba. He is currently the President General of Nguru Develop ment Union, Nigeria. Mr. Emeziem is happily married with eight children. His hobbies are readingand gardening.
