Kemi Adeosun was appointed Nigeria's Minister of Finance by President Muhammadu Buhari on November 11, 2018 During the annual general meeting of Afrexim bank in Abuja to commemorate it's 25th anniversary. She was also elected as chairman of the board of the bank with her succeeding the outgoing chairman Ndagijimana Uzziel, Minister of Finance of the Republic of Rwanda. On September 14, 2018, Kemi Adeosun resigned as Minister of Finance succeeded by Zainab Ahmed.
