FEDERAL PERMANENT SECRETARY. He was bom in Biu in the old Bomo province in 1933. He went to Biu Central Ekmentary Schoolfrom 19391943, Bomo Middk Schoolfrom 1944-1946 and enrolkd into the famous Kaduna Colkge in 1947finishing in 1948. He proceeded to Zaria Secondary School in 1949 and finished in 1950. Then he went to Westminster Colkge London from 1954-1956 and between 1956 and 1958 he was at the North Western Polytechnic London. Later in life he was to be on the Economic Devekpment Institute of the World Bank in Washingon DC, USA in 1965. With his kvel of education Ibrahim was really preparedfor any official chalknge. He started work first in the Private Seaor with the John Holt as a Trainee Manager between 1951 and 1953 before joining the Northern Nigeria Service as Accountant in the Ministry of Trade and Industries from 1959-1961 and became Principal Commercial Officer from 1961 -1962. He was seconded to the Federal Civil Service in 1962 and was posted to the Ministry of Commerce and Industries as Deputy Permanent Secretary from 1962-1965, Deputy Permanent Secretary Ministry of Finance 1965-1966 andpromoted substantive Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Trade in 1966. He was in thisposition till 1971 when he was transferred to the Ministry of Defence till 1975 when he was retired along with others after the military coup that took place thatyear. Alhaji Ibrahim Damcida was an ace in his field of work and that earned him the titkof Super Permanent Secretary. Even after retirement, he remained Fellow of the Economic Development Instituteof the World Bank and member Chartered Institutes of Secretaries.
