Honourable F. N. C. Nwandison, from Umualu Ugwuoba in Oji-River Local Govern ment Area of Anambra State was born in his home town Umualu, in October 1940. Christian by faith, he is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nwandimue and Theresa Okwuaku Maduanwusi. His early life was influenced by the christian doctrines and also by his family organisation. ; He was also influenced early in life by the cultural organisation and life in his village, Umualu. He attended St. Peter's Central School, Ugwuoba and later transferred to St. Mat thew's Catholic School Amawbia Awka where he finished in 1949 and obtained the standard six school leaving Certificate. He also obtained a diploma in typing in 1951. Hon. Nwandison worked with the Post and Telegraph Deparrnent from 1952 to 1954. He also worked under the Forestry Department of the then Eastern Region as a statistics officer responsible for food production and forestry regeneration from 1967 to 1970. When the Oji- River Local Government was created, he became the Supervisory Councilor for Works and Chairman of the Oji-River Local Govern ment Town Planning Authority from 1977 to May, 1979. He married his wife Cathnne Obiageli in 1967 and they are blessed with many children. Countries visited by Hon. Nwandison include Italy, France and Israel, Western Germany, Brazil, Canada, U.S.A., U.K. and Tanzania. His hobbies are tennis, reading and photography. Due to his commitment to social activities in his village, he was made the first secretarygeneral of the Ugwuoba Development Union, and chairman, of the Onitsha Branch of the Union. Since his early life was influenced by chris tian doctrines, he also participates actively in the catholic church activities.
